Verona C. Gordon, PhD, RN, FAAN

Professor Emeritus, University of Minnesota, School of Nursing. Area: Psychiatric- Mental Health Graduate Program. She designed and developed the INSIGHT Program for Women and conducted major studies on depression in women that have been featured at 47 national and 14 international conferences. As a strong advocate for women and their families, she has received the National Psychiatric Nursing Research Award and has been honored with a Fellowship in the American Academy of Nursing. Dr. Gordon is a widow and mother of five children, and has seven granddaughters.

Elizabeth Gordon Sachs, BA, MA

Beth Sachs was co-researcher on the INSIGHT study at the University of London. Beth, a clinical psychologist, was a therapist and counselor in Appalachia, London and Paris, after academic and clinical studies in Vienna, Austria. She also served in the research division of the International Secretariat of Amnesty International in London. An environmentalist, Beth founded and organized the successful reforestation program, "The Greening of Detroit" in Michigan.Her editing, updating and enrichment of INSIGHT program materials have been invaluable. She lives in New York City with her family, where she continues her professional activities as an artist, an author and a writer of grant proposals to organize and implement strategies for the improvement of the health of children in poverty.
